Olga Isabel Nethersole made her stage debut in 1887 in Brighton; that same year she made her first stage appearance in London. She was active throughout her career, but she played Shakespeare only once: Juliet in 1894. She excelled in the same roles played by Sarah Bernhardt (plays like Camille and Frou-Frou) and in 1907 she was critically acclaimed when she played at the Théatre Sarah Bernhardt in Paris. In 1900 she first played in another of her most successful parts in Clyde Fitch's Sapho.
