Lily Brayton as Queen Isabella
in Richard II

Published by J. Beagles and Company, London. Card No. 1209. No photographer is identified.

The Queen is seated; the part and name of the young lady standing next to the Queen are unidentified.

Shakespeare takes a few liberties, as he often does, with the actual history of Richard II. Isabella, a French princess, was only eight years old when he married her in 1396, so she could not be more than eleven or twelve during the action of the play.
