Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree's production of the adaptation of Charles Dickens's Oliver Twist by Comyns Carr (1849-1916) opened at His Majesty's Theatre on October 7, 1905. The original cast included Sir Herbert as Fagan, Frank Stanmore as the Artful Dodger, Lyn Harding as Bill Sikes, Constance Collier as Nancy, and Hilda Trevelyan as Oliver.
